People who have undergone the gastric bypass procedure have formed a support group, called the 'Life-back Club'. This group is very helpful and supportive to people who are thinking about having the procedure or who are waiting for it to take place. The Life-back Club is also very useful to people who have had the operation, letting them talk to other patients and discuss how their weight loss is progressing. The Life-back Club holds meetings in Leeds every two months. Some members of the group are also prepared to discuss their experiences on the telephone with people who are considering having the gastric bypass operation.
